Fun and Free Valentine’s Day Printables

While I don’t care for preschool worksheets, I am a big fan of printables that correlate with hands-on activities.

The Valentine’s Day printables listed below do just that. They help children work on important early concept in engaging, hands-on ways.

Plus, they’re fun. AND each of the 20 valentine printables is free. That’s a win-win-win in my book!

I tried to break them up into categories for you. Hopefully that helps navigating all the valentine fun a little easier.

Math Printables for Valentine’s Day

First we’ll start with math printables.

The kids can use these printable number cards in a variety of ways to explore early math skills like counting and one-to-one correspondence. We especially love using them with candy hearts.

Do your students adore dice games? These games have been universally loved with my students, whether preschoolers or kindergartners. So of course I had to share my set of free printable valentine games with you too.

Kids estimate, measure, and count with Buggy and Buddy’s measuring with candy hearts printable. I think this would be fun in the math center or even during a Valentine’s Day class party.

Prekinders’ valentine grid games work on subitizing, one-to-one correspondence and other early math skills. Plus, they’re simple and easy to learn games kids enjoy playing.

Fantastic Fun and Learning’s Valentine’s Day shape mats can be used with so many different materials – loose parts, chocolate kisses, play dough, etc. Love the option to count and record what’s placed on the shapes.

Children who are all about the play dough will enjoy PreKinders’ valentines play dough mats. They get to use play dough to make tarts for the Queen of Hearts – counting as they play and create.

Valentine’s Day Printables That Explore Literacy Concepts

Next up are some printables that touch on preschool and kindergarten literacy concepts.

Print out heart letters when exploring heart name crafts with your students. The printable letters can be a reusable extension of the valentine-themed name activities, or as a stand-alone activity.

Valentine Bingo Sheets Printable Free

Use valentine cutting and tracing strips to practice fine motor skills with your students. I love how these printables can be used in different ways, with a variety of different materials.

Growing Book by Book shares a valentine alphabet bingo game for the kids. Print it out, add some valentine-themed bingo markers and get started. This one would be just right during literacy small groups.

Grab The Kindergarten Connection’s valentine alphabet match cards for your literacy center. Add some clothespins or paper clips for the kids to use as they match letters.

Inspiration Laboratories’ valentine heart glyph is such a conversation starter! The children get to add to the glyph based on their interests and personal information. Depending on your students, this might be better done individually or with elementary-aged children.

This heart visual discrimination printable from Pre-K Pages is just right for centers or small groups. Visual discrimination is an important early literacy skills because it’s how we learn to differentiate between the shapes and lines in letters and words.

If you have children in your class that can’t get enough of using scissors, check out This Reading Mama’s valentine cutting practice activities. These printables offer a few different lines the kids can cut, working on their pre-writing fine motor skills.

Valentine Art and Crafts Ideas

Now let’s look at some fun Valentine’s Day printables you can pair with art and crafts in the classroom.

Kids who just want to color and design and color some more will enjoy Picklebums’ heart coloring pages. I can picture the amazing designs the kids will come up with.

Fun Learning for Kids’ “I love you to pieces” printable helps young children make a sweet valentine card. As a bonus, it works on fine motor skills at the same time.

I think I Heart Crafty Things’ black glue Valentine’s Day art project is gorgeous! The coordinating printable helps guide the kids through the project if they need it.

Arty Crafty Kids shares a printable Valentine’s heart card you can pair with the children’s pictures. Then the kids can use their fingerprints or paint to create heart-shaped balloons within the template.
